I LOVE Valentine's Day. It's probably my favorite holiday! I remember making valentines with my mom when I was young, and I for sure didn't love it back then. She'd make up ridiculous rhymes and want us to put them in the card. Looking back, it really was funny, but back then I couldn't really see the humor.
Here are a few of her favorites she would suggest and then howl with laughter about:
"Kiss my lips
Before my nose drips"
and
"Kiss me you fool,
Before I drool"
You can see why I might have dreaded the task (not to mention we got started on them well past our bedtime and the rubber cement (yes, rubber cement) was always dried up and so my dad was always running to the store for more.
Despite that, I get soooo excited to make valentines with our kids, and this year was no exception.
You all know I love a theme, and there was no way this one was slipping my me unappreciated.
So Penelope has these great teeth. I'm truly in love with them. She looks like some sort of woodland animal (chipmunk, beaver, bunny, squirrel--what have you)
So when I came across these cards, I knew just what to do.

Had her strike a pose with her beautiful buckers on full display.

Here's Oliver, posing with his true love on the special day--his Beyblades. I've never known a true obsession until now. Oh my.
I wanted to get a picture of him with his valentine he gave his class. When I got this Chucky (yep, it's a link!) smile, we tried again...
I finally just zoomed in on the actual valentine and called it good.
I don't have a picture of Hudson's but they were great! We did an army guy with a heart attached to it that read "I'd Catch A Grenade For You" for the girls, and "You're The Bomb" for the boys.
I also did the 14 days of Valentine's for my kiddieloos and Stevie Wonderful, which has been a tradition from when we were first married. It's fun thinking of and doing all those fun things for them. I told Steve he had to start doing it for me too. Aren't I so nice?
XOXOXO
