We started out the festivities this year by going to the Santa party at Cricket's house.
The kids had lots of fun singing Jingle Bells (quite a few times). Santa told us he even had a new song for us this year that he was pretty excited about. Turns out it was Jingle Bells (again?) with a country western twang. We were all left feeling slightly confused. I love Ollie's face!
Ollie was pretty excited to sit on Santa's lap.
Hud was a little surprised Santa thought he wanted a "bus" instead of a "Buzz."

We spent Christmas Eve with Steve's side of the fam and had a yummy potato and salad bar. We exchanged all of our gifts that night too, and we had so much fun! Jeanne's family gave Ollie and Hudda this cool bike to share. Ollie has not gotten off of it (yes, I've been letting him ride it in the house) and he refuses to let Hudson go near it. He pretends it's Thomas the "Tankin" Engine and makes me fill it with fresh water and coal all day. Sometimes he even tells me the wheels won't go because there is grass in them. These imaginations my kids have, I swear!

Ollie can't tell that it's not ice cream, and here he is wearing it as a goatee.
When we got home that night we had them open their traditional Christmas Eve gifts...their ornaments (Hud's was a space shuttle and Olf's was a train), jammies and Christmas books.
Here they are modeling their new jams courtesy of Mimi. The reason Huddie's face looks so nervous is because he said he didn't want to sit by the Santa because he was "scary." I have to kind of agree, but I won the Santa in a drawing at a cute store, and it's one of the only things I have ever won!
We made these gingerbread men to leave for Santa and his reindeer. Hudson wanted to decorate his to look like Huckle. I thought it was hilarious! (I'm raising him on good old Richard Scarry books and loving all the memories that I grew up with.)

Here is his with his beloved new train and doggy. He tells me all the time things like "Mommy, I love you, and...I love dogs!" He is so cute!!
After we had our own little family's Christmas morning together we headed over to my side of the fam's for brunch. We had our traditional delish waffles with orange sauce, 2 different kinds of breakfast casserole and Mom's homemade cinnamon rolls.

Later in the afternoon I pulled the boys away from their precious train set to get dressed. They went right back to playing with it though!
