Gram, Huddie and Papa
All the cousins along with FUNcle Buzie digging in the sand
Steve and Papa would run up and down the beach with the kiddies on boogie boards. This beach is so nice because it's practically private. There is hardly anyone ever there! +347.jpg)
The only bad thing about it is this: THE STAIRS.
127 of them to be exact. Once we were down at the beach, we weren't coming back!
Some (crazy) people run up and down the stairs for exercise, sweating up a storm.
Me? Not so much.
After playing hard and walking up each and every one of those stairs saying "my do it!" one little boy took a tiny nap. He fell asleep on my shoulder in the shower and napped in his bed for 2 hours. He woke up, napped in my arms for 1 hour, and then again in his crib for another hour. That's right...a 4 hour nap. Heaven!
(not that I don't love him...it's just that this little guy doesn't ever stop talking.)
Yep, we really wore them out! Here we are at Balboa Park. They were exhausted following an afternoon of visiting a train museum, a train ride, carousel (that went waaay to fast) and other fun rides.
At night the kids would snuggle down and watch movies on their ipod, which was sooooo nice to have throughout the trip. It was the perfect thing to quiet them down in restaurants so we could enjoy our meal in peace!+137.jpg)
We happened to be there during the San Diego County Fair, so we decided to hit it up!
I'm always up for a good Carni! Kind of an expensive mistake we won't be making again.
$2 per person, per ride, and $9.50 for a corn dog, anyone?
But just look at the joy! Can you blame us for staying?
Now Ollie on the other hand, was a little upset. He was too little to ride most of the rides, and for the life of him couldn't understand why Hudda could.
The anger...the FURY!
I'm sure I am the meanest mom ever, but I think this has got to be one of my all-time favorite pictures of Ollie.
All better (and a little bit "in-your-face") after he won himself his very own goldfish.
Thanks for distracting him, uncle Buzie!
We ended up finding a ride that we all could enjoy...and boy did we!
And what's a trip to the beach without a little frolicking with your love?
I love you, Stevie Wonderful!
THE END.
