A Day (or a month) Late and a Dollar Short

SHE'S CRAFTY!!
To add a little holiday flair to our house, I decked our halls with pine boughs.
(One caveat, if you ever want to do this: Make sure you understand the price of the pine boughs and ribbon before you buy them--- not driving home afterward wondering how your total came to that amount!)

Trimming the tree
Notice how Oliver's arms are spread apart as if to say
"There. It's perfect."

This was the boys' idea of how the tree should look.
After they went to bed, I did a little rearranging.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Our brother in law's mom hosted a party where Santa and Mrs. Claus came to sing carols and find out who'd been naughty or nice.

(Hudda wasn't excited at all)

Ollie was a little leery of Mrs. Claus eyebrows, and just wanted to go back to eating his pretzels.

We spent Christmas Eve at Steve's grandma's house (we forgot to take pics...oops!)and my aunt Holly's house for her birthday dinner. My cousin Hillary has two cute puppies who were licking Oliver. He thought it was hilarious, and thought he'd play along. By licking them back. Numerous times. Yuck!
Here they are opening their Christmas jammies

Christmas Morn

Mimi, Craiger and Teal came over bright and early to see the kids and all the loot Santa brought.

The only thing Hudson (and Ollie) asked for was Buzz Lightyear. He was in awe that his Christmas wish came true, and wouldn't look at anything else or open any presents. So cute!

Ollie was thrilled with the candy

After our own little family's Christmas morning, we went to Grammy and Papa's where we had a yummy breakfast and opened more presents. Hudson's gift was a pink and purple stroller (he loves his cousin Sloane's). He put Woody and Buz in it and zoomed them around. I just tell Steve Hudda's going to make a great dad! Then he opened up a nice manly present-- a shaving kit. He loves to shave his beard every morning in the tub---"like the Drinch". (Grinch)

Ollie got some fun trucks--his fave! Doesn't he look thrilled?

After that we went over to Mimi and Craiger's for Christmas brunchner (that's right... breakfast/lunch/dinner). We had our traditional waffles with orange syrup, breakfast casserole, and homemade cinnamon rolls-- at about 4:00 pm

Doesn't Oliver look like he's Santa driving his sleigh?

And this is where they spent the remainder of the evening. Tucked behind the Christmas tree watching their beloved train go 'round and 'round. And 'round.

Can you tell which present was their favorite???

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2008

Oh!

P.S. Have any of you ever seen the book/tradition The Elf on the Shelf?Well it's darling, but this is the real Elf on the Shelf:
