Primarily Speaking...

It has felt like a huge right of passage for me as a parent to have Hudson go to Primary. I feel like such a grown-up now! I am in the Primary Presidency in our ward, and have been anxiously awaiting the time that Hudson would come into Primary with me. We talked about it many times together: How he was a big boy now that he turned 3, and that he didn't get to go to nursery anymore and play with Oliver, but he got to come to Primary with me. I told him it would be lots of fun, and that we would get to sing songs and play games. I think he understood, and I couldn't wait for his first Sunday. I brought my camera (a little sacrileg. maybe, but hey--like I said, it was a big deal for me!) to capture his sweet little face sitting on the front row with his class.
Well if any of you know Hudda, you would know I had high hopes thinking he would sit. All he wanted to do was have me hold him (I was conducting that week and also doing Sharing Time, so it was very distracting) or pull a chair up to the microphone so he could talk into it. Not exactly the picture perfect week I was hoping for. After Primary, I talked with his cute teachers and asked them to really take control over him and ignore that I was his mom. The next week was better...MUCH BETTER:

Our church starts at 1:00 p.m. and both of our kids nap at 1:00 every day. He napped through Sharing Time, Singing Time, class, and Sacrament Meeting. Perfect!

I guess Chrissy (our Primary President) thought she'd help keep him awake the next week by assigning him to give a talk. It was so cute!! My whole family came to hear him (and Chelsea was even in town so she got to hear him too), and he did a great job. Such a great job in fact, that he brought the house down. The kids started clapping when he was finished. Hilarious!!
