Flaming Gorge Camping Trip

In July we went "tenting" -as Hudson calls it- with Steve's family in Flaming Gorge.
His aunt and uncle have a fun cabin in the woods up there, and we had a great time!
We left Pippi home this time with Mimi and Pop C so we could just have some one on one time with the boys.

Our only glitch was in the middle of the night, when Hudson had one of his knee pain episodes. These are pretty intense, and he's very loud when it happens. Being the in-tune mom that I have learned to be, I had some ibuprofen ready at the foot of my sleeping bag just in case. I was glad I was prepared, but the rest of the entire family got to witness that night, the torture that is mine several times a month.
He woke up with his usual moaning, and then it quickly turned to yelling "why did I ever think it would be a good idea to go tenting? This was a terrible idea! This hurts so baaaaaad!"
We were trying keep him quiet, but it didn't work. It's a little tricky when you are in the middle of the forest with no other sounds around. The people sleeping in the cabin heard him, as well as the family sleeping in the front yard in their camper. That's how we roll! Everyone was very understanding and great sports, so thank you!!

We had a dance party one night on the big huge deck.

Aunt Jeanne is always up for some fun, and great moves to boot!

Hayes got into it too

but not nearly as much as Zoe!!

And you'd better believe if music was on, I was going to bust a move!

Steve's cousin (and our go-to babysitter) Kennady is always the life of the party. Anywhere she goes. We love her! Kennady--don't hate me for posting this!

I brought glow sticks and all the kids loved it.

The next day the kids caught a snake

They all played an intense Frisbee game that left most people battered and bruised

And I organized a scavenger hunt for the kiddos. They were so excited to get their prizes at the end!

4th of July

Happy 4th!
Do any of you ever wonder why it's so hard to get just a normal, sweet picture of your kids?
Is it too much to ask??

So we bagged it and moved on! At least I will always remember their personalities--which is way more fun anyway, I think!

Pippen Pie is so much fun!!

I made the boys these Patriotic drinks to have with their dinner. They were only mildly impressed.

We also went boating that weekend. Huddie and Ollie really love it!

Oliver is really getting BRAVE!

Oh, and of course he has to do Spidey hands. He's ALWAYS web-slinging something, somewhere.

They always love to drive the boat, and this time Pippi got in on the action. It was her inaugural time on the boat. She was a trooper!

Silver Lake

Going to on a "hike" around Silver Lake was at the top of my Leap List. We went there with Mimi and Teato on July 3rd, and had the whole place to ourselves. It was so pretty!

We couldn't believe we got Mimi there, but she couldn't believe we didn't think she'd do it---what with her being so outdoorsy and all!

This is Penelope's favorite face lately!

Hudson is not our outdoor kid. He complained for 95% of the time, and only looked like this when Oliver was pushing him in Pip's stroller. Other than that we heard: "Why did mom choose this for her bucket list? This was a terrible idea!!" Over and over.
