Before I actually became a mom, I had all sorts of things in mind that I would "never" do.
Letting my sweet, perfect little children have anything to do with "character" themed anything was at the top of the list.
Never say never, because the minute you do...it comes back to haunt you!
And how do you say no to faces like these??
Here we are at Heber Valley Railroad to ride Thomas the Tank Engine
on Ollie's actual "Happy Day"

Just look at the delight!

I couldn't decide if I liked this picture better in color, or black and white. What do you think?

Nervous little Olliedolly was too scared to stand up while the train was moving (about 2 mph) so he sat down on the bench and waved inside the train instead.

And we didn't just stop at Thomas. We decided to bring out the characters in full force with a Buzz Lightyear birthday cake. Now I realize that we already had a birthday cake on Monday, but that wasn't his real birthday, and I am such a sucker for anything the kids want.
And yet again, totally worth it!
A rare moment: both boys with Dad.
Olfie and Pop-C making breakfast together.

And I guess we don't have any good pics, but we had a fun bbq with Steve's family on Memorial Day. Thanks for the great weekend everyone!

It wasn't Ollie so much that wanted the Buzz cake as much as Hudda. It's all he could talk about. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone by ordering the Buzz cake:
1. Ollie would have candles to blow out on his actual day
(which is also Hudda's exact half- birthday...also another reason to justify getting the character-themed gaudiness that he wanted so badly).
2. Getting the cake now hopefully meant not having to do an entire Buzz Lightyear themed birthday party when he turns 4 in a few months... Yeah right. If it's something he really wants, you know I can't say no!! Maybe I'll have to gently guide him to some other possibilities...
Anyway, here it is in all its glory!

And yet again, totally worth it!
A rare moment: both boys with Dad. They really are not so into him lately... I just had to capture it!

Roasting marshmallows with our battery-operated "Spin Mallows". So much fun!

Thanks Olpin fam for sharing the day with us! We had tons of fun...especially being treated to lunch and extra treats at the Dairy Keen. You really gave us the hookup!
